Dr. Alan Purvis, MD
Dr. Purvis received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina Greensboro and his Medical Degree from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. He then completed his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He then completed his Fellowship in Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. While at Vanderbilt he also completed training in Sleep Disorders Medicine.
Dr Purvis is certified in both Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine with the ABIM (American Board of Internal Medicine). He is also boarded in Sleep Disorders and is a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Purvis currently serves as the medical director of the Department of Respiratory Medicine at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. In addition he is the director of the Sleep Disorders Center at Flowers Hospital and Medical Center Enterprise.
Dr. Purvis and his wife Sarah have four children.
