Alan W. Purvis, MD
Dr. Purvis received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina Greensboro and his Medical Degree from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. He then completed his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He then completed his Fellowship in Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. While at Vanderbilt he also completed training in Sleep Disorders Medicine.
Marvin W. Sexton, MD
Dr. Sexton was raised in Mobile, Al. He attended Auburn University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with degrees in Pre-Medicine and English. He was a National Merit Scholar and a Presidential Scholar. He received the Ruth Carolyn Faulk Scholarship, the highest award offered by the Auburn English Department, as well as the Eugene Current Garcia Award for excellence in the humanities. He worked as an orderly at East Alabama Medical Center while in college.
Walter J. Doty, MD
Originally from Alabama, Dr. Doty grew up in Birmingham and graduated from Homewood High School in 1999. He attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham graduating magna cum laude with honors with a B.S. in Biology in 2002. He attended the University of Alabama School of Medicine and after graduating in 2007, remained at UAB to complete his internship and residency in Internal Medicine. Following completion of post graduate training in internal medicine, he joined the UAB internal medicine faculty as Assistant Professor of Medicine through 2011.
